Software Review of:
Anti-Crash
For those still using Win98

From the December, 2002 issue of PC Alamode Magazine

I have a Toshiba Techra 8000 using Windows 98, 2d edition. It has been very crash prone. Some weeks ago I received an ad from McAfee for a program called "Anti-Crash" for about $25.00 plus postage. It was touted as avoiding many (not all) of the crashes to which Win 98 is prone. I bit and installed it when it came.

I am pleased to state that I have had many notices from the program where it said it was avoiding (or fixing) an imminent crash. I am thoroughly delighted with the program. Although I cannot state it is actually saving me from a crash, I can state that I have had almost no actual crashes since installing it. It is unfortunate that a company such as Microsoft cannot include such protection from their crashes within a program that they tout as so efficient. It makes you wonder if some of these crashes are allowed in their programs so that future upgrades can include such repairs.

Incidentally I received a thank you from McAffee with an invitation to receive a $5.00 discount on my next purchase within 14 days. It also invited me to pass this invitation on so I do not know whether this discount applies to everyone or not.
