The Tutorial is awesome, and consists of pages of printable information as well as  Help topics. You can also customize the Help topics using Internet Options from the Website by adding topics to your “favorites” list. The Instructional Videos teach you to perform common picture-editing tasks. Instructional Videos include Basic Photo Touchup, Cutouts and Filters, Face Touchup and Advanced Photo Editing and are accompanied by complete, online tutorials that include sample photos on which you can practice. Digital Image Pro Companion Guide (in PDF format) provides an overview of important digital imaging concepts. It contains terminology and technology unique to digital imaging. This guide also contains a selection of articles from MSN Photos Tips and Tricks, which provides practical advice from photography experts.

Digital Image Pro Tour provides an overview of the most common image-editing features to include getting your pictures, touching up your pictures, adding effects to your pictures, editing your pictures in batches and creating projects with your pictures. MSN Photos makes it easy to share your pictures with friends and family using online pictures, card and personalized photo gifts. MSN Photos allows you to add photos to your online folders from your computer, digital camera, scanner or shared Internet files. You can view your photos individually or as a slide show. You and your family can order professional-quality photos and enlargements from Fujicolor. Use your photos to create personalized photo cards, mouse pads, T-shirts and more. Learn about photography with numerous articles in the Tips and Tricks section of MSN Photos. To add a creative flair to your photos, try using one of the many filters in the Effects section of the Common tasks list. screen capturerThis photo was taken at the Love Creek Orchards Pumpkin Patch using a digital camera. The filter effect is called Hot Swirl. It creates a soft swirling effect throughout the photo. There are 155 filter features in the Effects section, which will give you hours of photo-editing fun.

One of the features I like is the Face Touchup option. This feature allows you to edit small areas in photos to include fix red eyes, remove a blemish, remove wrinkles, polish teeth and shrink a double chin. It includes a zoom tool so you can work on small areas of the face at about 250% enlargement. To remove a wrinkle all you need to do is zoom in on the wrinkle, click on it and drag the cursor along the wrinkle. Continue doing this on all unwanted wrinkles and click “done” when you are finished. Just like that all the unwanted wrinkles are gone.

Another feature I really like is the “Add Flash” option. This feature allows you to lighten the darkest pixels in the photo. The flash effect increases the amount of light in the foreground. This attribute is great when you have too much light in the background and not enough light on the subjects face, hands and clothes. It simulates the effect of using a flash while taking an outdoor picture.

Microsoft Digital Image Pro offers a “What’s New” section that includes a number of improvements and new features to enhance your picture editing experience to include:
Improved user interface, new batch editing features, new and improved lighting features (to include backlighting), improved crop controls, support for Adobe Photoshop plug-in filters, improved zoom controls, improved digital camera wizard, and improved documentation to include a new Product Tour, new Help, new instructional videos and tutorials, and an expanded Digital Image Pro Companion Guide.

I really enjoyed playing with Microsoft PictureIt!, and I plan on using it for my next photo album. The features will compliment any photographers style, whether a novice digital camera user or a professional photographer.

This software program is available at Walmart for $49.97. Yahoo Shopping on the Internet has it starting at $44.00 plus shipping and handling (total of $49.50). I highly recommend this software program to anyone who uses digital photography exclusively.
