You don't need to purchase expensive computer memory in order to speed up your PC. The Cacheman utility is designed to improve the performance of your computer by optimizing the disk cache, memory and a number of other settings. Cacheman prevents frequent paging to the hard disk caused by poor memory management, so you get improved performance, faster system reaction time and greater stability. Wizards and predefined profiles make it suitable for novices and yet it is also powerful and versatile enough for the more experienced user. Cacheman also corrects generic problems on systems with more than 512MB of RAM.

Sometimes slow computer performance can be attributed to poor memory management. With Cacheman, you can adjust the size of your cache, minimizing the need to swap files between your memory and hard drive. Since accessing data from the cache is faster than from the hard drive, the result is improved system performance. These settings can be changed manually by changing a Windows system .INI file, but why do that when you can adjust the size of your cache with sliders? There are also automatic settings, so that you can choose the optimization method depending on how you're using your computer (using multiple applications at once, or using a CD-writer).

Cacheman will let you optimize your disk cache, name and path cache, CD-Rom cache, and icon cache to speed up your computer. You can also periodically recover memory, tweak several system settings to improve performance , watch and monitor several important system values within Cacheman’s graphical user interface (including the computer system overview page, history graph, logging, and tray icon), and create system configuration reports.

The program is probably best described as being “something for the truly performance obsessed — those who want to wring every last bit of speed out of their system by tweaking Windows' various caches. Thanks to the built in wizards and help system, you can make these adjustments without having extensive knowledge of how Windows works. The wizards, for instance, provide far more explanatory text than is usually seen in most shareware. This program ensures you understand a decision before you make it. And if you change settings without using a wizard, context sensitive help is always readily available.

You can save configurations and return to them later, or easily go back to the configuration you were using when you installed Cacheman. The program can also boost your system's performance by recovering inaccessible RAM.

This version, which operates on Win9x, WinME, WinNT, Win2k, and WinXP, includes an improved uninstaller that restores your computer to its original settings regardless of the tweaks made. That alone should be worth the price of the program!

Cost of the program, which has no disabled features and no time limit, is dependent on the user: Private and Educational users can register the program for $10. If you really cannot afford the shareware fee you are allowed to use Cacheman as Freeware. All updates for registered users will be free even if we should be forced to change the license to Shareware only with the next major release. Commercial and Corporate users may continue to use Cacheman legally after 15 days for a $10 single user license fee. Discounts are available for multi-user and corporate/site licenses.
