| The All-One-Language Fun program is a game program designed for children
from the ages of 3 to 12. This program is to teach children other languages.
This particular one teaches 5 different languages, Spanish, French, German,
Japanese and English.
It consists of games from word puzzles to matching colors and shapes
and objects like bicycles, beach balls, trees and others like that with
colors like blue, yellow, green, red and purple all being said in the language
chosen. Also a bingo game with objects like clothes, food, toys etc. This
language system program is great, educational and fun for children to learn
a new language!
InstallationTo install this program open up windows95 or 3.1 and insert the All-In-One CD into the CD-ROM drive. Next, click on the start button located on the task bar and select run. in the "open" text box type in D:\SETUP (if your CD-ROM drive in do not D change the D to the appropriate letter), and then click on "OK." You may either choose to fully load it onto your hard-drive or only partly load it and also use the CD-ROM to use the program but the full installation is quicker if you have the space to spare. When I was using this program I only partly installed it only because I was only testing it out but I would defiantly recommend that you fully install it.PlayOnce the language desired it chosen a man or woman's voice will talk in that language asking the user to choose a game. There are many games to choose from such as bingo or matching or this one game where u help the mouse find the cheese -- that was my favorite. And they have all the games in all the languages which I thought was pretty convenient because a child might want a certain game but not in that language. If the child gets the question incorrect they have as many tries as needed to get it right and may replay the game as many times as needed. To me this program was hard only because I have never spoken any
other language but English so I found the others difficult. But I still
found it fun just messing around and playing the games over and over and
soon learned how to say animal names in the languages. So even if you don't
know the language you can still learn just by listening and watching. I
also found that neat because it involves more of the children's learning
skills such as reading, listening, and remembering!
Minimum requirementsThis program must have an IBM-compatible computer, Microsoft Windows 3.1 or Windows 95. Also, a MPC-complaint CD-ROM drive and audio board plus a Microsoft compatible mouse. Next, a 386 SX or higher microprocessor and 4 MB of RAM. Lastly, a VGA monitor and headphones or speakers. I was using an 8X CD-ROM player with speakers and headphones with Windows 95.ProblemsOne main problem I found in this program is that if the child doesn't know a language but wants to learn it, this program is not for them because not any of the languages help you in English, telling you step by step and helping you learn. It only talks in the chosen language and I found that very hard since I have never taken a language class of any sort. So I would recommend that there be some type of helper to tell the children the answer if desired and assist them through it, helping them with all the different words and phrases. This All-In-One Language Fun program was a very fun and entertaining program that any child would love to use at any time. But I must say that this program was not the best language program I have seen because theres no assistance what so ever to help out the ones that want to learn the new language by starting from scratch. But also, all the games were very well put together and organized and were very fun once you got the hang of it all. And I also think that parents would love this program too if they want to learn a language a long with the child and even though the age range is from 3 to 12 I still think that any adult could use it and learn quite a bit of the five languages!
