Time Value is for those interested in or in need of calculating amortization schedules; solving for an unknown in a loan payment, deposit, or withdrawal schedule/plan (amount, term, interest rate, principal); computing cash flows; remaining balance after a specified number of payments; purchase versus lease; annual percentage rates; and mortgage re-financing decisions. TV also handles situations dealing with leases; rates of return; present values; discounts; future values; balloon payments and some FASB tests and calculations. There is no concise statement of what you can do or accomplish with this application. in the written or electronic material provided. I do not find this unusual but would like to see it change. The Web site does include a good explanation of what TV does. The package I received included a 220 page printed User's Guide (it is helpful and easy to follow) and one 3.5" floppy. The UG indicates that a 5 ¼" disk is available. The price I found was $129.00. You may be able to do better. Check with Alamo PC advertisers. System requirements are listed in the User's Guide as, Windows 3.1 or later, 2MB or more of available RAM, and 1MB of hard disk space, and a mouse is required. This application does NOT require a heavy duty system. It runs great on a Pentium. The customary online/on screen help found with Windows programs is part of this program. Also, there is a non-toll free voice and fax number for use from 8AM to 5PM PST M- F. The program handled all of the customary or typical situations with which I am familiar, plus some that are not so typical. TV accomplishes the calculations in a friendly manner. If this type of financial software is of use or interest to you, TV deserves your serious consideration. It can be used to develop, plan or verify many common investment and business situations/decisions and some not so common. TV has a very well done web site.
