The very well written Junior Agent Handbook helps the crime fighters use the detection equipment and the chase starts. You use a small magnifying glass to look for clues and it lights up when you find one. The clue will take you to the next country until you finally get to the crook and they wind up in jail as Stretch, the Crime Dog shows his approval of your skills.
The Handbook contains suggested activities to reinforce the geography the child is learning and also shows how to read Chinese numbers up to 10, has a maze type name game, items to cut out and color, etc. It all reinforces the learning taking place while pursuing the crooks.
The sound and the animation are imaginative and the testing group loved it. They laughed at some of the antics of the crime fighters and were clapping when the crook was caught. It was a bit beyond the 4 year old but she stayed with it and identified the Turkish flag the second time she saw it which shows that the matching of symbols concept works well. This program lists for $39.95 at Broderbunds Web Site and you also get a $5.00 discount.
I recommend this program for the older children in the target group and I do think it is worth the money.
