 Professor Windows 95 (Deluxe CD)
by Maria Chua

Professor Windows 95 is an interactive learning software on how to use the latest operating system in the market - Windows 95. This was developed by Individual Software, Inc. located at 5870 Stoneridge Drive, Pleasanton, California. You can reach them by phone at (800) 331-3313. It is available now at computer stores nationwide at an average street price of $29.95.

For setup, the user should have at least the a 486SX 25mhz PC or higher, Microsoft Windows 95 as its operating system, 8MB of RAM, 4MB of free hard disk space, a double speed CD-ROM drive, speakers and a mouse. I am using a Pentium 100Mhz, 16 MB RAM, quad speed CD-ROM and with more than 4MB free hard disk space.

To install the Professor, insert the disc in the CD-ROM drive and if Autoplay is activated, you will see a Welcome screen, then follow the instructions to complete the installation. If Autoplay is not activated, click the Start button in the taskbar, then click Run. In the Open box, enter D:\setup (you can replace the drive letter to your corresponding CD-ROM drive). Click OK or press enter to start the installation. Follow the instructions and when it prompts you "Setup installed successfully", you're ready to go! Installation is a snap, it should not take you more than 2 minutes to get started.

Everytime you run the Professor Windows 95, the CD should be in the drive. Windows 95 should automatically run Professor Windows 95, however, if it doesn't, click the start button, point to Programs, and click Professor Windows 95 Deluxe CD. When you start Professor Windows 95, a town square graphic will greet you. While admiring the graphics of the town square, I would suggest the user clicking the tour cab. By doing so, you can sit back and watch the tour guide automatically walks you through the different places of interest in the Professor's neighborhood.

In the University Campus, you can choose from over 30 comprehensive lessons to help you learn everything about Microsoft's Windows 95. I would suggest starting at this point and browsing on "How to use this course" before navigating through any other departments. After each lesson you can test drive your newly acquired Windows skills at the Driving School, and catch a show at the Info Theater, where you can have a seat in the audience and enjoy a question and answer session about Windows 95. The Professor is at hand to answer all audience questions.

If you are new to Microsoft Windows 95 , this software is a tutorial you must have. It's more like an audio-visual book. Professor Windows 95 also includes Windows 95 Insider Tips (Secrets you should know). There are about 25 interesting tips and anecdotes about Windows 95 which you can find by clicking the Window Pains icon in the town square. In addition there are audio tips found throughout the program and a complete summary of tips in the user's manual. Check it out. I assure you, you'll have fun with it while learning with the Professor!
