Werewolf
is a helicopter combat game published by Novalogic
Inc. This game is aimed at an audience of about 14 and over. Map reading
skills and knowing how to use an index are needed to figure out the instructions.
Teenagers would benefit by learning about and understanding how to fly
helicopters. No system requirements seem to be listed. It is very easy
to run it through Windows 95. (You will get a message that tells you that
it is set to run in MS-DOS mode and it will shut down any program that
is running. It will then reboot the machine and start the game. When you
quit playing it will reboot the machine again and start Windows 95.) It’s
slower to run it through DOS than Windows 95. It is hard to find information
in the manual, but it is easy to find it on the summary page. The graphics
are not excellent, but they are better than most games. The voices and
sound effects are realistic.
The game keeps your attention, but after a while there aren’t too many
surprises. The biggest challenge is getting through the enemy helicopters.
I tried this game on a 486 DX2 running at 66 mhz, with 12 MB of RAM, double
speed CD ROM and Sound Blaster 16. I tried running it from the CD and from
the Hard Drive. There wasn’t a big difference as far as the speed.

Additional Comments If I had to choose I would pick Werewolf because it’s
easier, faster, and less problems occur. The manuals are almost identical.
I took both games out of the package and started playing, but after a while
I needed the manual. Both games are good, however after a while I got bored.
They give you the mission and you win. It’s the same thing over and over.
It would be a better game if it were more interactive.
