Having just returned from a trip to Africa – Kampala, Uganda to
be exact, I am quite excited about this month’s theme because I took lots
of pictures and video en route and while there. We had a 12-hour
layover in London and took a quick tour of the city. I almost filled
a sandisk card with pictures of the many sites in London. Then, while
in Kampala, Uganda I took both video and pictures of this city of seven
hills, as well as the source of the Nile River and Lake Victoria.
One of my most memorable adventures was videoing our drive through Kampala. If there are any traffic laws, no one seems to obey them! It was a “risk your life” experience every time we ventured out on the streets, even through our driver has lived there most of his life! Now that I am back home I need to first edit my photo and video efforts. Then I must put the keepers in some sort of orderly fashion so that I can share with my friends. Below, please find some software that should help any of us who need help with photo and video production. The first program is Photo DVD Maker 3.01. It is designed for the digital camera user who wants to create video slide shows with background music. With Photo DVD Maker, you can create exciting slide show using photo, picture, background music, caption, and interactive disc menu. Simply drag-and-drop photos to create slideshows, add music, narration, and titles to each slide show, burn slide shows onto CD-R/RW disc, watch your creative photo slide show on TV connected to DVD player. Photo DVD Maker makes it simple to share your digital photo album on the big screen TV with your family or friends. Version 3.1 features new templates added and background music bugs fixed. Video Workshop 1.1 is a digital video converter/editor for home video processing and for people who are just getting started with video editing. Video Workshop provides an easy-to-use interface and is designed for the everyday user. The main function of Video Workshop is to convert video files from one format to another, extract single frames to image files, cut a part of file into new video file, merge two or more files in one, rip audio tracks from video files to mp3 or wave files, and mix audio files (mp3 or wave) into new video file. Supports AVI, MPEG/VCD/SVCD/DVD, WMV, ASF, RM, MOV, QT). Easy Screen Saver Workshop 3.0 enables you to create and distribute your own shareware / freeware screen savers. Just collect your favorite images, music, MP3, flash files and create images slideshow / animated sprites / flash based screen savers without programming. You can create single self-installing screen savers with user registration function. If you are not interested in distributing your own screen savers you can simply display them on your own computer. Easy screen saver workshop is an easy way to use projects you created as default screen saver for your computer. SuperVideoCap 2.0 Build 80 is a video capture tool, which lets you capture Video/VCR/TV program from DV/DC/TV tuner card/Webcam/capture card to AVI, DIVX, XVID, or WMV file. It offers support for auto-capture, custom WMV profile, snapshot bitmap, JPEG from DV/DC/TV tuner card/Webcam/capture card. Broadcast from anything that you can plug into your audio or video card, including a DV, DC, Webcam, video camera, TV tuner, VCR, VCD player. Your friends can view your content with Microsoft Windows Media Player or Microsoft Internet Explorer. Overlay text/time stamp applied to the local video file or live video. Capture full screen or portion of the screen and support user define playback frame rate to speed up or slow down playback. Hero DVD Player 3.06 is a full-featured DVDs, CDs and media file player. And it offers high-quality video, audio playback and create a home theater on your PC. Furthermore, it supports multiple popular formats media files like AVI, MPEG, RM, MP3, WMV, and Flash. It features other powerful features such as optional skins, image capture, crash disk correcting, background playing, caption processing, broken playing, local-zoom, and bookmark. DVD Shrink 3.2.0.15 is software to backup DVD discs. You can use this software in conjunction with DVD burning software of your choice, to make a backup copy of any DVD videodisc. DVD Shrink will also burn your backup DVD, if you have installed the latest version of Nero. If you already possess alternative burning software and prefer to stick with it, then you can still use DVD Shrink. The output from DVD Shrink can be saved as files on your hard drive, which you can then burn with software of your choice. DVD Shrink is free software. |
