HOME PAGE JUMPSTART CLASS
What: This is a general introduction to developing your own Internet web page.  It is not a course on HTML. Includes a 20+ page manual, training disk, and a walk through the development process.

When: ONE session,The next class will be (date and time to be announced) This class does not meet each month, please check the calendar or call the Computer Learning Center to confirm meeting dates

HTML AND BEYOND CLASS
What: Learn how to create your own web site.

Learn how to design, build and manage your own web site using HTML. Some of the topics discussed include formatting text, links and forms. Additional non-HTML topics include planning, design and management, color and graphics, CSS, FTP and dealing with search engines.


Students should have familiarity with the Windows Operating System.

When: Six Sessions, Sundays; 2 pm to 6 pm
Classes are held in March and September

Where: Alamo PC Organization Computer Learning Center

Prerequisites: Pre-registration required, Contact Mike Bianchi to register, email Mike at webmaster@alamopc.org

Students should have familiarity with the Windows Operating System.

INTERNET AND EMAIL CLASS
What: The Internet and E-mail course will cover basic techniques needed to effectively and enjoyably "surf the net." Students will learn how to find information on the net, download files, applications and graphics, and how to purchase items from "e-commerce" sites. Depending on student interest, the class will learn about important Internet issues like privacy, credit card security, and information reliability. Depending on time constraints, students may also cover more advanced topics like using the Internet for long distance communication, "Web Cams," and enjoying "streaming" audio and video.
Students must have completed the Windows XP course or have the equivalent knowledge

When: Classes meet once a week, for six weeks, two hours each time
Choose one set

Set 1) Jan 8, 15, 22, 29, Feb 5, 12
Tuesdays 10 am to 12 pm

Set 2) Mar 18, 25, Apr 1, 8, 15, 22
Tuesdays 10 am to 12 pm

Set 3) July 8, 15, 22, 29, Aug 5, 12
Tuesdays 10 am to 12 pm

Set 4) Oct 7, 14, 21, 28, Nov 4, 11
Tuesdays 10 am to 12 pm

POWER INTERNET STUDY GROUP

What: This Study Group is intended for intermediate to advanced users - those who are now on the Internet and want to learn more. Each month a different Internet application will be discussed, such as e-mail, news, PC to PC data transfer, third party data transfer, DSL and direct cable broadband connectivity, e-mail, browser use, MS Outlook, and virus protection in communications.  This is a good place to share interests and insights about your experiences on the World Wide Web.

When: Meets on the Second Wednesday of the month, from 10 am to 12 pm

Where: Alamo PC Organization Computer Learning Center

Prerequisites: None

Tuition fee:  Free with your membership in the Alamo PC Organization
